What is a community Drum Circle? A Community Drum Circle is a group of people of any age that gather together, usually playing hand drums and percussion in a circle formation. The most common of these drums is the Djembe. The music they create is not always rehearsed but rather playing in the “moment ”. They gather together in the name of unity in order to share their unique spirits, entraining rhythmically as a percussion ensemble. They empower each other in a non judgmental space, celebrating community and life through rhythm and music. Rhythm is the “Mother Tongue”, Its a universal language known to most that brings all cultures together. It reminds us that we all come from the same essence therefore it connects us all in our heart space . You don’t have to be a drummer to participate in a Drum Circle, if you have a heart beat you can learn to play the drum and enjoy the magic and the healing powers of a Drum Circle . Marilena Constantinou a professional dancer a Drum Circle faciliator and music lover loves to bring people together through music and movement . Having finished her studies as a dancer and teacher of ballet ,modern dance she began her carreer at the world famous Moulin Rouge in Paris. She worked in various TV shows around Italy, Germay , Spain and Greece! She performed in Eurovision contest in Athens with well known singers and artists! Her love and passion for music has guided her to Faciliate Drum Circles and share the healing powers of a circle and the Drums. She faciliated Community Drum Circles in various festivals ,coorprate events , elementary schools for all ages including seniors. Marilena has chosen to share her passion as a healing gesture to the world as she feels a deep calling , gratidute and fulfilment when she shares what she loves and honors the unique spirit and individuality of each human being! She believes that music brings people together as ONE
